Who is eligible to sit for the CRC exam?
Candidates must be current or aspiring stenographic reporters or captioners in order to take the CRC exam. Candidates do not need to be a member of NCRA to sit for the exam. However, candidates who fulfill all requirements and wishing to use the CRC credential must become members.
How you maintain your CRC certification
You will need to maintain your CRC by participating in NCRA's Continuing Education program. You must maintain your NCRA membership and earn a minimum of 3.0 CEUs over a three-year period.
Recognition of your achievement
After you have earned your CRC, you will receive an official NCRA certificate to display in your home or office. Your CRC also gets you recognition in the Journal of Court Reporting, the NCRA Sourcebook, and on NCRA's website.
Candidates who hold another NCRA certification will receive .25 PDCs for passing the CRC WKT.
